BMX club house
St. Albert
190 m
2009
This club house was designed to represent BMX culture, which was described by our client as "bold, edge, movement, exciting and rad."
The simple rectangular form is given a dynamic shape by a prominent mono-sloped roof, and horizontal multi-coloured cladding creates visual movement. The high ranked front face was designed to act like a billboard for future graphics and signage. The exterior cladding is low maintenance, and is impact resistant to vandalism.
The building provides spaces for registration, event planning/meeting, concession area with a kitchen, as well as a bicycle workshop for repairs during races.
