KFN gas bar

Saskatoon, SK

430 m²

Contract Documents

Situated near the Saskatoon Airport runway, this project is the first of a four-phase flagship development for the Kahkewistahaw First Nation. Phase one will host a Gas Bar and C-Store in a striking 3-unit CRU building.

The building follows the streamline of the airport runway, allowing customers to enjoy the magic of planes taking off against the stunning backdrop of expansive prairie skies.

Glue-lam beams offer a bold and natural architectural aesthetic while providing the building's structure. The use of wood and stone honours the natural world in a prominent feature. The protruding fins on the façade are an ode to the airport setting, evoking thoughts of the wings of a plane. Landscaping will feature low-maintenance native plant species. KFN and building signage will include custom Indigenous Artwork.

Future phases of the development will include a car wash, free-standing CRU with drive through and an additional 3-unit CRU.
